  1. Subs will still play free.

New for the 2026 Season

  • All men will play from the White tees in all circumstances.
  • This year we have 12 teams, but we have 5 tee times on one side and 7 on the other.  This requires us to split one matchup between two teams on different sides.  This split matchup should always use the 4:30 tee times.
  • Establishing players will always be placed as the D golfer position.  If you have more than one player establishing their handicap, they will continue to the C player, down to the A player as needed.
  • Holes calculation will now use the complete difference between opposing players, starting from the number 1 handicap hole to the 9th handicap hole and then back around to the number 1 handicap hole again.  Example: Player C from team 1 has a handicap of 7. Player C from team 2 has a handicap of 19.  Team 2 player C will get a two-stroke advantage to tie or win the hole for the number 1 through the number 3 handicap hole due to a 12-stroke difference in handicaps. In the past, the higher handicap only got 1 stroke per hole regardless of the handicap difference being over 9 strokes.
  • Until further notice, you may take relief from a bunker. This means using “back-on-the-line” relief with no stroke penalty.  You are not required to take this relief and may choose to play from the bunker.  This is a player’s choice.  Example: Some bunkers are easy to putt out of and this may be the better play.
  • If there is an uneven number of teams, team scoring for rainouts is five points awarded per team except for the team playing against the straw team.  This team would not have gotten any points anyway.
  • Score sheets will no longer be used starting 2026. Score cards will be turned in at the end of each round. Make sure the score cards have full players names and their teams’ four-character designation. You must enter the hole score.  If you shoot a 5 on a par 4, enter 5.  Do not enter +1 for one over.

Pace of play.

These are highly recommended choices to help with pace of play.

  • Use the gimmie rule, meaning if your opponent gives you a gimmie, take the stroke and pick the ball up and move on.  Do not putt it out anyway to “see if you would have made it”. This is the opposite of helping pace of play.
  • Use the “Bunkers” rule. Pull back along the path of the ball and keep the round moving.
  • Play “ready golf” as best as you can. Get to your ball and be ready to hit.  We all like to catch up with others but don’t let it slow the pace.
  • Please don’t spend more than 3 minutes looking for a lost ball.
  • Max score is double par plus one.  When you hit this, please pick your ball up and move on.  Don’t wait until you get to the green and start counting your strokes if this may be you.  No offence, I’ve been here too.
  • If you think you may have gone OB from the tee box, DO NOT RE-TEE.  Walk your line and drop in bounds along the ball path.  Don’t forget, you have 3 minutes to find your ball.

League Play Interruptions Scoring

There may be league nights where some/all teams do NOT complete a full 9-holes due to rainouts, tornado alarms, etc.

  • The Commissioner and Stone Creek officials will make the decision when to call league play (it may differ depending upon the current situation)
  • If there is an interruption or delay due to weather, team captains (or representative) MUST confirm with the commissioner (or representative) or Stone Creek officials that the night is called a rainout.  If you choose not to play and score the round, you choose to forfeit all points for that round. (New for 2019)
  • In order to score league play for a given night, ALL teams must have completed at least 5-holes.
  • Matches where ALL players have completed 9-holes, points and scores will be recorded and applied.
  • Matches where ALL players have NOT completed 9-holes, only match-play points (including team-net points) will be recorded and applied, NOT scores.

A CSG Golf League website (http://csggolfleague.com/ ) will be updated on or around Saturday following Thursday’s matches with the following information:

  • Player/sub rosters
  • General information of interest

Flag Prizes

Four flag prizes will be awarded each league night. Two for side-A and two for side-B. Each flag prize will be a different challenge.

  • Maximum of three prizes per person for the season.

Attendance

Late Shows

  •  Maximum strokes for each hole not hit from the tee box, and the hole is forfeit. (Team scoring only)

Complete Team No Shows

  • The showing team gets all points (10 points for the match).

Year-End Tie Breaker

  • Tie-breaker will be team total points won for the year head-to-head
  • Second tiebreaker will be total team strokes head-to-head from hardest hole to easiest hole, for the year from most recent round.

General Rules of Play:

  • Men’s tee box – All men will play from the white tees.
  • Ladies tee box – red tees
  • Maximum strokes on every hole is double par plus one (i.e., if player has not finished by the time his/her score is double par plus one for the hole—pick ball up and take ‘Max’ on hole 7 on par 3, 9 on par 4, 11 on par 5)
  • Take stroke and distance for all balls hit out of bounds (do NOT re-hit ball from previous spot).  Any ball that lands in or crosses a street or sidewalk (not cart path though) is considered OB.
  • Winter rules apply all year (i.e., you may ‘fluff’ the ball within a 2–3-inch area to give yourself a better lie) – note: if you are in dirt or cart path, you may move ball to grass lateral to current position (not closer to hole)
  • Balls in tree wells, sprinkler heads, behind tee markers, cart barriers, etc. may be moved laterally one club length away from the man-made obstacle.
  • Balls against tree (without tree well) must be played where it lies (or take 1 stroke penalty and ‘lay out’)
  • No practice shots in sand traps—you may take practice swings, but a practice swing that hits the sand is a 1 stroke penalty.
  • Per direction from Stone Creek officials, do NOT allow the group behind to ‘hit on’ during par 3 holes—continue playing through.
  • Play ready golf—observe golf etiquette (i.e., furthest player away from hole hits first) but be ready to hit when the player furthest away has completed his/her shot.
  • No more than 3 minutes looking for lost balls.  There is a league that plays behind us thus, our slow play will impact all other leagues behind us. Slow play will NOT be tolerated.
  • Be courteous!
  • Don’t talk while others are swinging / putting.
  • Don’t walk in other’s putting lines.
  • Fix your divots and ball marks.

Scoring:

  • 10 points possible per team, per week (5 points per foursome)
  • 4 Match points (net Vs net)
  • 4 Medal points (holes won Vs holes won)
  • Lowest course handicap holes applied in ascending order (i.e., handicap 1 hole is assigned handicap stroke)
  • More than one stroke may be applied due to handicap differences.  If there is more than 9 strokes difference, continue applying additional strokes starting back at the highest handicap hole. (New for 2026)
  • 2 team net points

Handicap:

  • Each player will have a handicap that is calculated at 80% of the player’s most recent 6 rounds eliminating the high and low rounds.
  • If a player has not played 6 rounds, then the handicap will be calculated on all rounds played.
  • Example:
  • Round 1: 46 / 11 over par
  • Round 2: 43 / 8 over par
  • Round 3: 42 / 7 over par
  • Round 4: 51 / 16 over par
  • Round 5: 45 / 10 over par
  • Round 6: 53 / 18 over par
  • Handicap = ((11+8+16+10) / 4) * .8 = 9 (eliminate round 6 – 53 (high) and round 3 – 42 (low).
